What I'm Loving Now

Boxing has seen a boost in popularity and has overtaken yoga as the latest fitness craze this year.  With world class supermodels Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima and Gisele all wild about the sport, this has become the hottest way for women to get fit.  Boxing glove sales are up 130% and I bought mine a few months ago when I began boxing and now I am obsessed.


Boxing allows you to push boundaries and feel super confident.  You develop an addiction and want more.  The workout includes jumping jacks, squats, running in place and strength training.  It is a mental and physical workout that leaves you drenched to the core.  Benefits, you ask?  Fat burning, increased metabolism, muscle tone, cardiovascular fitness, improved core stability, hand-eye coordination, strength and power.  All this and it is a stress reliever, too!  Focus on someone/something unpleasant as you jab, cross, hook and uppercut and your anger will dissolve.

Boxing will build lean muscle-mass and tone your entire body. You will find that you are training on a whole new level shifting between aerobic and anaerobic exercise. The combination of cardio and strength training will allow you to burn calories without bulking up. Even better, the boost in your metabolism ensures you'll be burning calories throughout class and long after you leave. Ready to hit the ring?  Buy your own gloves (you don’t want to stick your hands in those smelly ones everyone borrows) and find a class in your gym or at the numerous boxing gyms that have sprouted up everywhere.  Good luck and remember to float like a butterfly and sting like a beeJ
