John needs to bring his routine back into the gym. He has been running outside and weather can be a good excuse for not exercising. It’s raining, snowing, too cold, etc. If you are tired or stressed, these excuses will feed your soul. The gym is the best place for John – no weather issues in there. Instead of running on the boardwalk, he will hit the treadmill. He might even try the free weights to build and sculpt his muscles.
Mary, on the other hand, has packed on the pounds over the summer. Too much food and no exercise will lead to this. She needs to start moving, concentrate on what she is eating and lose the weight before holiday season rolls around. Perhaps, she will start to explore some new and exciting classes like Cardio Sculpt, Yoga, Zumba and Pilates. When you find something you love to do, you stick with it.
One thing about a gym – it is always there, filled with people and friends with positive energy. No one goes to the gym angry and, if they do, the positive energy they experience seems to lift them out of that depressed mood. The key is consistency. So if you, too, have migrated away or gained a few pounds, get back in the swing of things and get moving!
