To do
anything you don’t like. I am sure you
agree. It is important to keep life in
balance. Since there are things that you
absolutely have to do like go to work or school and pay taxes (LOL), balancing
those things with what you love to do evens everything out. So, you ask,
how do you do that? It may
require you giving up something, but that is what the balance is all about.
For instance, I hate to do my wash. Mostly, because I am busy and, above all, because I simply hate to do wash. It is truly tedious. So I get mine sent out weekly and it comes back clean, folded, pressed and smelling simply delicious. That works for me. I would actually prefer to clean my house than do the wash. So it becomes my trade off for a more tranquil me.
Perhaps
you hate housework. If you can’t afford
a cleaning woman, make it a round robin rotation. Everyone in the family should all get a turn. Maybe after they all do it, they will
appreciate what really goes into keeping a clean home and it might even stay cleaner
longer!
Skip
a night at the gym (yes – this is healthy behavior) and go on a date night out
to dinner with your significant other. You can
always use the quiet time together.
Make
plans to attend dance recitals and soccer/baseball/basketball games that your
kids have on the agenda. Family time
together will create that necessary bonding for a healthy environment. No time to cook? Grab a quick meal out with the gang like
pizza or Subway sandwiches (which can be surprisingly good for your waistline with
their Nutrition Menu). That means you just eliminated food shopping,
preparation, cooking and cleaning up.
Plus you managed not to dig into the piggy bank.
You
get the picture. The trade-offs actually
make life more interesting and varied by shaking up the boring routine. It is good to step out of the box every once
in a while. Try it – you will probably
like it:)
