We
could all use a personal life guru, someone to help keep us feeling great. My
celebrity crush is Yogi Cameron Alborzian, former super model turned Ayurvedic
healer and yoga master.
Yogi Cam left the world of high fashion in 1998 to seek the higher path and begin his studies in Ayurveda at Arsha Yoga Vidya Peetam Trust in India under the guidance of his guru, Sri Vasudevan. Since then, he has worked with individuals throughout the world to provide them with these ancient methods to live healthier, greener, more spiritually-minded lives in accordance with the Ayurvedic and yogic path. Using a combination of treatments, meditation, herbal remedies and diet guidance, Yogi Cameron helps treat specific conditions and sets his clients on a path to greater mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. A primary goal of this path is helping each person find their purpose and practice.
In each episode of his engaging reality series, “A Model Guru” on Veria Living's primetime show (Sundays at 9:00 p.m.), Yogi Cam takes on a new client challenged by a health issue. Using the Ayurvedic 5,000 year-old-system of medicine and healing, he gets them to the root of their problem and on the road to wellness. It is quite interesting to see how dysfunctional their lives are and, yet, Yogi Cam tackles their problems patiently. His thought process is amazing and he breaks everything down in order to simplify their lives. When you see how minimalistic his life is, you really understand where he gets his tranquility, calm demeanor and spirituality from. As you can see from his photo, his good looks come from his Iranian father and English mother. He is quite handsome, totally easy on the eyes and, of course, in tip top shape. I have to confess that he is a wee bit too skinny for me and I would love to feed him a nice juicy steak LOL.

Here
are some of Yogi Cam’s thoughts on eating……….he says everything from dinner
parties to Thanksgiving feasts conjures up the same image: that of an enormous supper. Whether it’s for a special occasion or not,
the last meal of the day is usually the largest meal of the day. Sometimes, we even allow ourselves to have
multiple courses. According to Ayurveda,
this pattern of eating is completely out of order. By the time evening comes, our digestive
strength is winding down for the day. If
we burden it with excessive amounts of food, our diminishing digestive power
will falter and we’ll experience indigestion, gas, and other indications of
gastrointestinal distress. Not only
that but, in giving our bodies too much to digest at the end of the day, we’re
far more likely to still have food in our stomach as we sleep; this leftover
food will then turn toxic overnight.
When planning your food intake for the day, work to have your largest meal
be lunch and then eat a smaller amount for dinner. Then, when you wake up the next morning,
you’ll feel far more refreshed and energized.
The Guru in You, his first book, was
published in January 2011. In his latest book, The ONE Plan, Yogi Cameron
translates complex, intricate Patanjali teachings into practical daily tasks,
routines and systems that can easily be incorporated into everyday life for an
improvement in one’s overall physical, mental, and spiritual health.
